WILMINGTON, Del. – West Chester topped LeMoyne Friday afternoon to run its winning streak to five straight and improve to 5-0 on the young volleyball season.
The Golden Rams dispatched the Dolphins 30-27, 30-20, 30-15 and finished off Shepherd 30-18, 30-22, 30-24. West Chester is off to one of its best starts in years and on the verge of capturing its second tournament crown in as many weekends.
Kristen Decker hammered down 18 kills and 17 digs in the win over the Dolphins. Laci Becher posted 18 digs, Ashley Zech 13 digs and Jacqueline Vivanco 12 digs. West Chester’s defensive effort was evident in the final two games in which LeMoyne combined to amass just 35 points.
Lisa Yeasted recorded 40 assists in the opener against LeMoyne. The junior setter continues to close in on the school’s all-time assist mark in helping the Golden Rams walk over its opponents so far this fall.
